The Llanidloes-Without Community Council
The Community Council
The Council is here to serve the Community council of Llanidloes-Without.
Its role includes:
- Discussing and acting on local needs
- Reviewing and commenting on planning applications
- Administering the Llanidloes Without element of the Council Tax (the precept)
- Responding to consultation documents affecting our community
- Working with Powys County Council, the Welsh Assembly Government and other organisations to resolve local issues
The Council is an independent organisation. Councillors are elected by the community. Local government elections are held every four years. Vacancies occasionally arise in between elections. Anyone interested in becoming a Community Councillor should contact the Clerk.
The Chairman and Vice Chairman serve 1 year and then change and the Vice Chairman becomes the Chairman.

Council Meetings
Llanidloes-Without meetings are held on the last Thursday of the month 7.30pm at The Schoolroom, Baptist Chapel, Shortbridge Street, Llanidloes, Powys.
Agendas are published the week prior to the meeting on Notice Boards located at Glan y Nant (telephone kiosk), Y Fan (bus shelter), Llanidloes Town Hall and on this website.
Any disabled member of the community wishing to attend a Community Council meeting should contact the Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer in advance to ensure that any reasonable adjustments are made to assist with access.
